The story
Dr. Tochukwu Macfoy studied medicine at Igbinedion University, Okada and practiced at the Military Hospital in Yaba, Lagos. But even then, his mind was on media.
He left clinical practice to work in television, hosting shows and producing content at Cool TV, now known as Wazobia TV. He then moved to Viacom Nigeria, now Paramount Africa, where he served as Communications, Partnership, and Special Projects Lead. There, he secured distribution deals for Comedy Central in West Africa and ran campaigns for Airtel, MasterCard, and Access Bank across sub-Saharan Africa.
He later led content strategy at Dentsu Nigeria, producing over 60 episodes of a Budweiser football series and landing a produced show on Netflix.
In 2024, Energize Music entered a strategic alliance with The Orchard, a Sony Music subsidiary, expanding its global distribution reach. Lanre Masha, Director of African Operations at The Orchard, described the partnership as a direct response to Energize's track record in Christian and family music.
Dr. Foy's conviction is simple: African faith-rooted creativity deserves serious infrastructure. He is building it.
